  • Open a Bank account

Our association has negotiated for you a special offer with Société Générale. This big French Bank has a lot of offices in Grenoble and allows you to manage your account easily on internet..

When you arrive, we will give you a so called demande d'ouverture de compte (opening bank account request). This piece of paper should be given back to us if you wish to benefit from our special partnership with that bank:
You will receive 30€ when you open your account and 30€ more after 3 months!
Opening an account is completely free of charge. Management fees are 1€/month (as opposed to the usual 5€/month) for the first year.
We will also offer you a discount on the week end organized by the Bureau International for you!
Give us back that paper quickly and Société Générale will contact you to set a meeting (we can accompany you if you wish).



  •   Accommodation’s insurance


It is a mandatory requirement. To open a bank account you will need a piece of paper saying where you live (justification of accommodation), and you can have it only if you give a accommodation’s insurance first.

We have another partnership with MAE for your accommodation’s insurance (flat or room). It is a very cheap (Contrat Habitation Etudiant : 32€ per year) one but it covers pretty much everything.
If you wish to have an insurance with MAE for your accommodation fill in the form demande d'adhésion and give it back to us.



  •   Public transportation


If you want to travel with the bus, you can at first buy a 1trip ticket for 1.30€ or a 10 trip ticket for 10.40€ (one trip being an hour, no matter how many lines you take). You can also have a monthly pass (24.60€/month) or a yearly one. In order to get those you will need to go to a TAG agency (next to the station or at the tourism information, once again some of us can go with you). You will need the following papers:
- Passport photocopy.
- ID picture.
- Justification of registration at Grenoble INP (or student card if your French school gives it quickly).



  • Using a bicycle


Grenoble is the flatest french city, it is therefore very easy to use a bike. It may also be faster than bus/tramway in some cases. Depending on what you are looking for, you can either buy a bike or rent one.
For renting, the shop called "Métrovélo", located under the railway station is a good place to go to.
For buying, there is the association "Un p'tit vélo dans la tête", Rue de Londres, that can also help you take care of your bike.
